In Loving Memory of Chance

Chance was found as a stray in July 2006 and was brought to Ferrets For Life in order to give him a second chance. He was an older gentleman, probably in his sixth or seventh year. Chance had a large amount of hair loss that was most likely due to adrenal disease. Because of Chance's declined state he was adopted by the founder of FFL, to ensure that he was given a home for his sunset years. Unfortunately Chance's health was failing fast and within a few weeks he had grown too weak to eat on his own, and could barely crawl from his bed. Chance had given up fighting, and was ready to rest. On August 18, 2006 a difficult decision for all those who loved Chance was reached. He was humanely put to sleep and drifted peacefully away. Chance will always be in our thoughts and have a place in our hearts. We miss you Chance.

In Loving Memory of Comet

Comet came into rescue in Sept. 2006. He was in poor shape, even though he was only about a year old. Comet had suffered from sevier neglect and was extremely underweight. Comet and his cage mate Chloe were very close. They had been together since they were kits and had never been separated. As the days passed Comet became weaker and weaker, until he was unable to eat or drink on his own. The shelter volunteers worked tirelessly to keep him hydrated and fed. Comet continued to take food that was hand fed to him, and it appeared that he may just have the will to make it. Unfortunately Comet had been left to long without the proper nutrition and care. He passed on in his sleep Sept. 14, 2006. Everyone at the shelter will miss this special little guy.

In Loving Memory of Bear

Bear came into rescue in Sept. 2006 along with Comet and Chloe. Bear was a senior ferret (probably about 6 years old). He had suffered from starvation and neglect. He was extremely skinny and from the beginning, his future was uncertain. Bear had been in poor shape for so long that he was starting to give up. On Sept. 20, 2006 Bear gave up fighting. He had fought long and hard to stay alive, but he was not able to overcome the large amount of neglect he had suffered. Bear's body may have been weak, but his spirit was strong. Bear is a reminder to all of us of how important our work is. Sleep well little guy.

In Loving Memory of Timmy AKA Bear

Bear came into rescue in Sept. 2006 along with Jimmy and Nikki. In November 2006 Bear was adopted by a loving home in Oshawa Ontario. Bear liked going to the beach and shopping with his family. He was a very large male ferret, but his favorite pastime was snuggling with his mom. Bear will be greatly missed by both his human and his ferret family.

In Loving Memory of Jimmy AKA Wasabi

Wasabi came into rescue in Sept. 2006 along with Bear and Nikki. In November 2006 Wasabi, Bear and Nikki were adopted by a loving home in Oshawa Ontario. Wasabi was full of adventure, and trouble. He was just a pint sized male ferret, but he was never afraid of anything, and loved going new places and meeting lots of new people. Wasabi was a sweet heart, who will be missed dearly.
